How it works

How does our support work?

1. We provide matched funding. This means that however good your cause we can’t provide support unless you are giving to it as well (either in time or money)
2. The level of matched funding will depend on the amount of time/effort you are putting in, and the type of charity you are fundraising for. The greater the effort you are making and the more your charity is able to benefit charities whose serevices are threatened by coronavirus, or help the next generation the higher proportion of matched funding we may be able to give you
3. The maximum level of matched funding we can give is £1 for each £1 you yourself give or raise
4. We encourage you to apply before you give or fundraise since that may well help motivate you and others to give. We are happy to provide you with guidance on if and how much we are able to support you
5. We will always need to see evidence of the money or time you are giving, or the amount you have fundraised, before we give the grant
6. All grants must be given directly by us to a UK Charity (click here to find out why) – we are happy to send the donation to you to send on to them
7. The Rev. Ted Baines Charity is not explicitly a Christian charity, but it is based on the principles of the Christian faith. This means that under our constitution we are unable to support charities whose objectives are in direct conflict with Christianity. Click here to find out about our Christian principles
